Horse racing is hot this weekend. Here are some fast tracks for horse racing fans, place your bets at Gulfstream, Oaklawn, Santa Anita, and Sam Houston.
On Saturday, horse racing is hot at celebrated tracks like Gulfstream Park, Santa Anita and Oaklawn Park. And on Sunday, Sam Houston Race Park in Texas delivers an unexpectedly strong card, giving gamblers a rich betting menu.
Horse Racing Hot Betting Tips
To bet successfully, horse racing fans, you should know your track, and also know how to manage your money.
- First, decide how the major races figure into your budget. Do you want to allocate more money to just one event? Or is it smarter to distribute the money evenly, to give yourself a legitimate shot to cash tickets in each one? All the tracks combined offer enough action to represent an all-star card, if you only focus on events with six-figure purses.
- Each track has its own nuances too. The more you play them, the more familiar you get. And some tracks just provide better luck for bettors.
- Then there are the insights gamblers can pick up throughout the day. In recent cards, Paco Lopez was riding better than he did earlier in the season at Gulfstream Park, and rewarded bettors accordingly. Tyler Gaffalione rode three straight winners a few days back. Some gamblers picked up on the fact that Gaffalione was “on” that day, and bet him.

The Fast Track at Gulfstream Park
Sometimes you can stumble into a big payday.
In a 10-horse field last Saturday, the 8-5 favorite ran second. He was beaten by an 8-1 shot, and a 60-1 bomb ran third. The $1 trifecta payout was more than $9.25. The $1 superfecta, including the 15-1 shot who ran fourth, was $7,421.
Is this kind of payoff hard to hit? Absolutely. But you can give yourself a shot by taking a favorite in a $1 trifecta key. Put the horse in first position atop three longshots. Put the horse in the second position with the same three longshots. The whole package costs $12 for the trifecta or the superfecta.
The calculated guess is that the favorite runs well enough to be in the first two places. And then it’s just a little bit of luck.
Gulfstream has a star-studded Saturday card, highlighted by the $200,000 Holy Bull and a slew of $100,000 events.
